Truth be told, success does not just rely on one person's skills. While anyone can be successful on their own, we also owe our victories to many things, may it be in the form of failures or rejections. And to get through these challenges, we stand up with the help of people who care and support us. That's why it is essential that women empower other women to build a stronger community.

As Lumina Homes continue with our interview series with empowering women in celebrating International Women's Month, Lumina Homes asked three millennial bloggers about the importance of empowering fellow women.

Their insights are interesting. Check out what these empowering women had to say:

Jovelyn Mateo of Peculiarly Made

Jovelyn Mateo is working in the social media marketing industry, where she aims to help brands grow their business. On the side, she blogs at Peculiarly Made, where she shares her experiences on travels, food, events, and so much more.

Why did you choose your current career?

I want to pursue my passion to help brands grow their business by organizing and implementing social media marketing strategies.

How do you keep yourself inspired?

I make sure that I am surrounded by people who support me and help me grow. I also make sure that I spend time with myself and do my hobbies to make myself happy.

What do you think is the biggest concern for women of your age is facing?

One of the biggest issues that every woman is still facing today is the rape culture that should have ended a long time ago. Women should not be objectified regardless of what she's wearing, how much she's drunk, and wherever she's in. Women should always be respected.

What is the importance of women empowering each other?

We, women, struggle with various issues every day. Having support from other women is something we all need to be able to help us be more confident, thrive, and succeed in every aspect of our lives.

The advice you'd give to a woman thinking of starting a blog:

Let your blog be your voice and your outlet to tell stories that connect you with other women around the world.

What is an empowered woman to you?

An empowered woman is someone who stands for what she believes in, someone who is confident and does not seek validation from others.

Mikhaela Adarve of Youth Solo Artsy

Mikhaela Alyssa Adarve of Youth Solo Artsy is a freelance model, language translator, and digital creator that loves to share insightful travel tips, honest food reviews, importance of self-love, and raising awareness of sustainable fashion.

Why did you choose your current career?

Choosing a career is demanding when your anxiety attacks you to the point that you do not have the power to do things like others can do professionally. I started to change my mindset in the year 2019. It was like a turning point that you do not need to follow other standards to make yourself feel proud. I chose this career because I want to achieve things without looking back on past regrets. Also, it is my way to help people learn all things they should know in terms of my knowledge and skills in travel management, food and beverages, and sustainable fashion and lifestyle.

How do you keep yourself inspired?

Digital content creation is challenging yet rewarding for me. So, whenever I feel stuck at the moment, I always read motivational ebooks from time to time to keep going. Recently, I read the Ikigai, The Japanese to a Long Happy Life by Hector Garcia & Francesc Miralles. Aside from that, I usually came up with new content ideas from the deep meaning of every movie or drama I have watched, listening to various songs I love whenever possible. Even in the slightest bit of human connections and current events, I make it a habit.

What do you think is the biggest concern for women of your age is facing?

As a millennial, I think the biggest issue of every woman my age is feeling neglected whatever they do to improve their lives, and that they are affected just by hearing other opinions about themselves. Racial discrimination also plays a big role in gender equality that triggers people's lack of competence and affects mental health.

What is the importance of women empowering each other?

Yes, lifting each other is good. You can have someone who shares the same interest as yours to keep you motivated and inspired to do things for your better self. It's like a genuine reward that makes each other feel great without having conflicts.

The advice you'd give to a woman thinking of starting a blog:

Study, practice, and hustle a lot. When I first thought of making my journey in the blogging industry, I felt so thrilled yet overwhelmed, and this is normal, especially for beginners. You can start with baby steps like finding your vision or purpose in doing what you want to achieve. Whenever you feel rock bottom, just stick to your niche and remind yourself about your objective. Always remember to work hard and have fun!

What is an empowered woman to you?

An empowered woman is a great supporter. It matters in both personal and professional life. She is strong and dedicated to doing things that matter to her vision of success.

Angela Mae Abad of Love, Teacher Angel

More than teaching, Angela Mae Abad is a teacher whose goal is to make a difference in her students' lives. Aside from her full-time career, she also blogs at Love Teacher Angel where she writes about Education, Finance, Technology, and more.

Why did you choose your current career?

Ever since childhood, I always want to be a teacher and make a difference to the lives of students. Other than that, I also envisioned myself writing stories and speaking to people. That's why being an Educator and a Blogger at the same time is indeed a dream come true, and I'm grateful for these Lord's gifts.

How do you keep yourself inspired?

I continually inspire myself to do good and help people by means of looking in the eyes of compassion and relevance. My family and my sister (who has a mental disability) continue to inspire me to make a difference and grow more as a person through my work as an Educator and Content Creator.

What do you think is the biggest concern for women of your age is facing?

The common challenge we face is the fact that we do not have the same platform to share our creativity because we were closed to the society thinking we're only just a woman. Not to mention the discriminations and abuse we face about our appearance and background.

What is the importance of women empowering each other?

It is very important for women to lift and motivate each other because of the biased world of social media. Because of different views and opinions, we are often wired to criticize or fight each other. For now, it would be nice if we can empower women to do the opposite and create positive light to the world of social media, leading the example to girls out there.

The advice you'd give to a woman thinking of starting a blog:

I encourage aspiring bloggers out there to be authentic and real to the content they want to share with the world. Know your purpose and use your gifts to spread light and positivity to your readers. Because blogging is not just about having many followers and influence. It's about being relevant and a catalyst of change.

What is an empowered woman to you?

An empowered woman is a catalyst and a mover of change. We are a woman of beauty, intellect, and purpose-driven values.

When women empower others, we can build a community that can lead the change we've been aiming for the longest time. When women empower one another, we are stronger. And when women empower other women, great things can happen.
