Brand Pillars of Lumina Homes
23 April 2020Front line workers in the Philippines put their safety and well-being on the line every day to save the lives of those most in need in these unprecedented times. However, even though COVID-19 is today's supervillain, our real-life heroes continue to fight relentlessly to resist the menace and ultimately defeat the unseen enemy.
All of them are willing to sacrifice their time, health, and safety to ensure the safety and health of the people. That's why their efforts and sacrifices should not be forgotten or disregarded.
We can help them to contain the widespread of the novel COVID-19 virus by following the health and safety protocols that the government is currently implementing in our country. It is not enough that we must stay at home but also we need to make sure that our family and are safe from the harmful and deadly coronavirus.
Here are some of the guidelines that the Department of Health or DOH released that we need to observe.
How to protect yourself from COVID-19?
You can protect yourself from getting the virus by following these protocols:
- Wear face mask and face shield
- Sanitize your hands
- Practice one-meter physical distancing and limit physical interaction
- Ensure good indoor ventilation and airflow
How to prevent the spread of COVID-19?
People are urged to take precautions by the Department of Health. It's still the greatest strategy to avoid COVID-19 infection.
Use soap and water to wash your hands often and thoroughly for at least 20 seconds. Hand sanitizer with alcohol content may be used instead of soap and water if they are not readily accessible.
Practice proper cough etiquette.
- Keep your mouth and nose covered with tissue or sleeves/bend your elbow while coughing and sneezing, or cover your mouth with your hand or elbow.
- When coughing, get away from people.
- Don't spit.
- Dispose of used tissues properly.
- After sneezing or coughing, wash your hands thoroughly.
- Use a sanitizer or alcohol.
Keep your distance, at least one meter away from those with respiratory problems.
Be aware of the dangers of unprotected contact with livestock, wild animals, and goods derived from animals (such as uncooked meat).
Make sure that the dish is cooked thoroughly.
Proper use and disposal of medical masks
A medical mask should be used and discarded as follows:
- Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or soap and water to wipe your hands before picking up an unused mask.
- Find any rips or holes in the mask by picking it up and inspecting it.
- The metal strip on the upper side will help you get your bearings.
- The colored side of the mask is the one that should face the outside; thus, it is the one that should be identified.
- When you put the mask on your face, squeeze the metal strip and mold it over your nose and face.
- Cover your mouth and chin by lowering the mask's bottom.
- Remove the mask and remove the elastic loops from behind your ears while keeping the mask away from your face and clothing after usage.
- Protect yourself and others by avoiding allowing the mask to come into contact with any surfaces or clothing.
- Avoid contaminating the mask by touching it;
- Immediately after usage, place the mask in a sealed container and dispose of it.
- Make sure to wash your hands after you remove your face mask.
