What is the speed limit in the Philippines according to law?
Even while speed restrictions might vary depending on the sort of road you're on, they're all grounded in the same legislation.
In accordance with RA 4136's Section 35, motorists must drive the same with due care and diligence, at a speed not greater than is rational and suitable, taking into account again for traffic, the width of the highway, and any numerous different circumstances after which. This law also states that no person shall continue driving any motorized vehicle on a highway at such a speed to endanger the life and possessions of any individual nor at a speed greater than will permit him to do so safely.
Under this rule, motorists and motorcyclists are restricted to no more than 80 kilometers per hour (kph) on rural roads that are free of blind bends and are not immediately next to any homes. When sharing the road with trucks and buses, the maximum speed limit will be reduced to 50 kilometers per hour.
Allowable Speed Limits on PH Roads
In accordance with Republic Act 4136, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) have published an official guide that serves as a general rule of thumb for Philippines speed limits. Because of this, you may safely maintain the appropriate speed restriction even if you don't see speed limit signs but are familiar with the kind of route you're on:
For roads in the country that aren't surrounded by houses and don't have any blind spots
Public or private vehicles/motorcycles: 80 kph
Trucks and buses: 50 kph
In defined areas, such as "through streets" or boulevards, where there is no traffic and no "blind corners."

Trucks and buses: 30 kph
Not specifically labeled as "through streets," but has low-traffic residential streets of a city or town
Public or private vehicles/motorcycles: 30 kph
Trucks and buses: 30 kph
Through congested areas, around blind curves, through school zones, when passing stopped cars, or in a similar hazardous situation
