Top 4 Places to Visit in Baras, Rizal
It is the first organic town in the Philippines and the organic agricultural hub in the Rizal province. When the town's center for organic goods and services was inaugurated on July 13, 2009, the residents of Baras took pride in this another great recognition, aside from being the home of the native martial art, Sikaran.
1. Floating Solar Farm
A floating solar farm of 10 kilowatts peak (kWp) was installed on the Laguna Lake in Baras, Rizal province. This was designed to provide the community with renewable and clean energy. With this project, the Philippines will have its first-ever floating solar farm, allowing for the use of solar energy in ways that ground- and rooftop-mounted systems have not previously authorized.
To demonstrate the viability of floating solar technology in the nation, a sustainable energy company has introduced it. Designed to survive for 25 years, this 10kWP project added and built a connection station so that homeowners could use the electricity produced for charging electronics, running sound systems, and lighting up the river.
Furthermore, floating solar farms may assist aquatic and marine life to thrive by reducing water evaporation and the growth of algae in the lake. Community and economic development are other possible outcomes of the initiative.
2. Baras Kasarinlan Eco-Park
This is also known as the Wawa Eco-Park. When it comes to promoting Rizal's hidden treasures, the Municipality of Baras has launched the Kasarinlan Eco Park. The pilot project of the Memorandum of Agreement signed by the parties in August 2018 was Kasarinlan Eco Park, a cooperation between the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) and Winnergy Holdings Corporation. In addition, a floating solar farm was built to power lamp posts and illumination.
The whole family can enjoy affordable and memorable activities like fishing, biking, and picnicking in this eco-park.
3. St. Joseph Parish
Behold the awesomely classic beauty of one of the oldest churches in the Philippines! Located in Baras, Rizal, Philippines, the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of St. Joseph is a Roman Catholic church. It houses the miraculous image of San José de Baras, which dates back to the 16th century. The church is said to be the oldest parish on the southern Tagalog mainland dedicated to St. Joseph.
4. Celossian Flower Farm
Celossian Flower Farm in Baras, Rizal, is an excellent location for a weekend escape, a breath of fresh air, and a chance to photograph gorgeous blooms. Bright yellow, pink, and orange celosia blooms line the rows in this garden. This colorful spectacle is open to the public for only P20.
Place to Visit in Pililla, Rizal
Known as the Greenfield Municipality of Rizal, the town of Pililla is bordered by fields, little mountains, planes, and woods.
Pililla Windmill Farm
Pililla's Halayhayin, the Rizal Wind Farm's exact location, is only two hours from Manila, making it the latest addition to a series of popular tourist destinations outside the capital. Wind farm operators Alternergy Wind One Corp claim that Pililla is a suitable location for their facility because of "the unique topographical characteristics around the lake," which they say form a natural wind corridor.
The Amihan, which may reach 36 kilometers per hour in October and March, is captured by a row of 27 wind turbines perched 300 meters above sea level on undulating hillsides overlooking Laguna de Bay. Each turbine can generate 2MW of power. Every year, the whole farm is expected to produce around 150 Gigawatt hours of power.
You can enjoy the captivating view of the Pililla Windmill Farm for free every day from 7 AM to 6 PM.
Diocesan Shrine and Parish of St. Mary Magdalene
Pilila, Rizal is home to the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of St. Mary Magdalene or Pililla Church, a Roman Catholic Church. The Franciscans built the church in 1583 under the patronage of St. Mary Magdalene, and it stands until today. Tanay's old San Ildefonso Parish Church is only a few miles distant from here.
The National Historical Commission of the Philippines presented the St. Mary Magdalene Parish Church as a historical monument on January 16, 1977, while the Parish was named a diocesan shrine on 22 July 2018.
