Have Fun with Every Juan in Lumina Homes
2 February 2016So you’ve just moved into your brand new Lumina house and lot?
You were expecting knocks on your door the same day. You open it and see homemade pie held by a comely fellow smiling at you, saying, “Welcome to the community!” But then we hit the rewind button, and the pie was right at your face.
Of course, there are no pies to welcome you. Blame old school American movies and TV shows for that image. There’s no such thing.
However, neighbor visits aside, you are still welcomed to a warm and simple community with people you can get along with.
Welcome to Barangay Lumina!
To save you the trouble, here’s a blueprint to Barangay Lumina where you can get to know popular cliques and kinds of people in the neighborhood.
1. The Community’s Gossip Granny
Of course, she’s at the top of the list! What kind of place in the world does not have a person like her? She’s usually seen loitering outside her house and lot looking for delicious gossip. She doesn’t have a clique where she belongs to but she can be everyone’s friend… at the expense of their secrets. You can’t trust her to keep it but you can trust her pieces of advice. To tell her or not? That’s your call.
2. The Modern Businesswoman
She is just a message away as early as 6 AM, expect her online photos posting sopas, spaghetti, lugaw, palabok, and other breakfast menus, ready to be delivered to your doorsteps, or pick-up your meal at her home. By 10AM, she would be posting different viands for lunch. And, of course, here comes halu-halo (seasonal), lumpiang sariwa or toge, and other merienda specials by noon.
She did no hassle of constructing a store, she just joined the neighborhood's Facebook Group to offer her delicacies. Oh! Do you also need make-up, perfumes, and other essentials? Message her and check out her brochures from different direct-selling companies.
3. The “PBA Team”
The “we were born to play ball” clique. They compete in every pa-liga. They are the big boys in the community. It’s no wonder, for their daily routine is eat, play, sleep, play, eat, sleep, and the cycle continues. Spending most of their time at Lumina Homes’s covered basketball court, their mothers ought to move their things there one day.
They are also the “I was born to make girls swoon” squad. They’re not that good looking but when they dribble and shoot the ball, girls are all screaming for their skills.
4. The Tough Men
Compared to them, “the PBA team” are a bunch of totoys. You can’t swoon though. They’re married. They have long outgrown basketball and usually go out and meet at the house and lot community to talk about politics, life, and other philosophical and psychological topics like their wives, usually over a bottle or two. And sometimes over karaoke, which is usually held at one’s house and lot or at the Lumina Homes’ multi-purpose hall if it’s a big celebration.
5. F.R.I.E.N.D.S
Young professionals bond along with some chikas or just some jamming sessions at the park. But sometimes, they do this bonding with the side job of watching their siblings enjoy Lumina Homes' playground.
Now that you’ve read about a few, it’s time to go out there and meet them too. You have a bigger home outside your house and lot. You need to see the bigger family in the whole Lumina Homes community. You’d be missing a lot if you don’t, ‘cause though they are friendly, they’re not the type to knock on your door and offer you a pie. Or if they will, maybe some puto, bibingka, or some other rice cakes, not pie, ‘coz we are in the Philippines.
So stroll along and enjoy Lumina Homes’ mini gardens and playground or commercial area, watch a game at the covered basketball court and take a peek at an event at the multi-purpose hall. Who knows, you may just meet your clique!
