Guidelines on How to Register in SSS Online
26 August 2022We have been on board with the new standard of doing all of our financial and personal matters online for the last two years. Who would have believed that everything could be done online today, including shopping, paying bills, receiving services, ordering meals, and even buying an affordable house and lot Philippines!
It's a lot easier, quicker, and more convenient since you can do it whenever and wherever suits you best, without ever having to leave the house. All you need is a reliable connection to the web, and you can do all of this.
This is also the reason why SSS strongly recommends that its members make the most of its various online channels/platforms when conducting SSS transactions, as this is in line with its digitalization initiatives to better serve its members and to minimize face-to-face interactions in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
About My.SSS Portal
SSS account Members and regular/household employers may view their information and conduct a variety of transactions with the SSS using the SSS online account service portal, known as My.SSS.
Members may schedule appointments with their local SSS servicing office, make straightforward updates to their membership records, and create a Statement of Account (SOA) that includes their Personal Reference Number (PRN) in order to pay contributions or borrow money.
In addition, the PRN needed to make contributions to workers may be generated on a Contributions Collection List, which can be accessed via an employer's My.SSS account.
Am I eligible for the SSS online registration?
If you fit into one of the following categories, you are eligible to join as a member:
Employees with SSS coverage
Employers
Kasambahays and other household employees
Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs)
Self-employed or voluntary members
Unemployed spouses with at least one-month posted SSS contribution
Steps in Creating an Online SSS Account
Before members and employers can use My.SSS, they must sign up for an account and establish a unique User ID and password, which we'll cover in more detail below. If you don't already have an SSS number and at least one posted contribution on the SSS records, you won't be able to register as an online member user.
The initial step in signing up for the Social Security System (SSS) website is completing an online application for a personal record and a UMID card (forms E-1 and E-6). In order to receive your UMID card, you'll need your SSS number first.
Step 1. Visit the SSS Portal
Access member.sss.gov.ph/members and click the "Not yet registered in My.SSS?" link at the bottom of the SSS Member Portal page to create your My.SSS account. Clicking this link will lead you to a screen where you may choose from eight different choices for creating a user ID for use in the online service. Pick an item that has already been registered in the SSS services:
Check number of any SSS monthly pension
Date of the last loan
Employer ID number / Household employer ID number
Mobile number registered in SSS
Paid payment reference number / Payment receipt transaction number / SBR No.
Citibank cash card / Savings account number / UBP Quick Card / UMID – ATM savings account number registered in SSS
Transaction number in your Personal Record/Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID) Application E-1/E-6. This is applicable only for online SS Number applicants from December 10, 2020 onward)
UMID card
Step 2. Complete the SSS Member User ID registration online form by providing the requested information
Do not submit an application with any mandatory fields left unfilled or incorrectly completed including your complete mailing address-- whether it is a Philippine address or a foreign mailing address. Here are a few things to remember:
- If the combined length of your last name and first name is going to put you over the character limit, simply enter the name as it appears on your SSS ID or UMID card. If you need assistance obtaining your ID card from SSS, you can call their toll-free number or SSS hotline at (920) 6446-55.
- If you do not have a middle name, you may leave that space blank.
- When registering for SSS online, the drop-down calendar will help you avoid making a typo when entering your date of birth.
- Step 2 will request your UMID card PIN if you selected "UMID CARD" in Step 1.
- If you don't have the PIN code yet but want to use the SSS services, you must first activate your UMID card at an SSS information kiosk located at selected SSS servicing branch/es
- Remember to type in the CAPTCHA code and check the box that says "I accept the Terms of Service" that you can see at the bottom of the page.
- As soon as you think you're done, check everything twice. Then choose the Submit button. After completing the online registration for SSS, a brief message will display to validate your submission. Just go ahead and hit the OK button.
Step 3. After 30 minutes, go check your registered email
The SSS will check the information you provide on your SSS online registration against its existing database shortly after you submit it online. After 30 minutes, [email protected] will send you an email if all the data you entered matched. Your online member user ID and an activation link are also included in this email.
Step 4. Go ahead and activate your SSS online account
When you get the SSS activation email, follow the link to activate your account. Your SSS account requires activation within the next five days at the latest. The registration link will be invalid after that time, forcing you to re-register.
If you click the link, you will be sent to a screen where you will be prompted to create a password and need to retype it to confirm it. Ensure that it will meet the preferred password setup:
- Eight (8) to 20 alphanumeric numbers
- Must be different from your user ID
- No special characters
- The first character is an alphabet
Once you are ready to send your information, click the "Submit" button.. If both passwords are correct, you will be sent to the login screen.
Now that you already registered your SSS number online and already have a My.SSS account, you can now access your records on the SSS website as well as on their SSS mobile app. However, for SSS members that encounter any problem during your online registration, you can visit the nearest SSS branch or their main branch at SSS Main Office, East Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City. You can also call their SSS hotline at 1455.
