Step-by-step Guide
Applying for DOST Scholarship can be done in two (2) options - Manual Application and Online Application.
Manual Application
If you opt for a manual application, here is your guide.
Secure an application form first by visiting the nearest DOST Scholarship Division office, or download and print the application form via their online portal.
Fill out and affix your signature on the application form. Along with the duly accomplished form, attach all the documentary requirements. Then, place it in a long brown envelope and submit them to DOST Regional Office or DOST Provincial Office nearby.
Wait for the examination permit to be sent through e-mail or to the school principal. You may also visit the nearest testing venue or DOST office if there's a delay in testing permit issuance.
DOST Online Application
Today, manual application is not yet encouraged by the DOST due to the existing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic. That is why they recommend an e-application system for the DOST scholarship. But, you must have a stable internet connection. Here are as follows:
Visit their official portal online, DOST-SEI Undergraduate E-Scholarship Application System. Ensure you have all the requirements listed on their website.
Sign up and register using your active e-mail address. You must also provide a detailed and completed online form, such as your full name, middle initial, last name, and birthdate. You will receive a verification notice once successfully registered.
Click the Verification Link once you receive it in your e-mail. You will be redirected to the "Eligibility Module" button. Do note that you will receive a disqualification notice if you do not complete the online form properly.
Complete the required details to proceed if you pass the qualification link.
Then, upload the documents needed via the "Upload File Button" and click the Submit button to complete the process. Always ensure that all entered details are correct and complete files to avoid disqualification. Lastly, you will receive a confirmation of your application and the DOST scholarship test permit.
Tips to Pass the DOST Scholarship Exam
There is no written formula for passing the exam. But, with these helpful tips and tricks, taking a DOST scholarship exam can be easy.
1. Make use of the free review materials given by DOST.
These are DOST-SEI Primer Reviewer [PDF], SIYENSYA-Bilidad [PDF], and college entrance exam reviewers such as UPCAT.
2. Start your review as soon as possible.
When you review, focus on your weakness and revisit your stocked knowledge, such as basic concept applications.
3. Practice answering questions under time pressure.
All examinations have time limits, and so is the DOST scholarship exam. So, create a formula that can speed up your thinking and analysis. Start answering the easiest question followed by the most difficult ones.
4. Stay calm during the exam.
It's typical to get nervous. But, it is best to keep calm to stay focused. Maintain a positive vibe that you can pass the scholarship test.
5. Eat a proper meal.
One golden rule - never go to a battle with an empty stomach, as it is also the most effective way to prevent anxiety. When a stomach is full, the brain can function efficiently. Thus, you are confident that you can answer all the questions during the examination day.
Move a Step Closer and Invest for Your Family
Providing an affordable house and lot for your family can be your greatest dream. But, getting your kids ready for their future is something you need to fulfill. Therefore, you must have a good investment to prepare for your kids' college education.
