Let the Earth Breathe: 10 Ways to Save the Environment
14 April 2022March 2020 brought an unsolicited modification to our everyday lives. The whole world was shut down due to the novel COVID-19 virus.
The world stopped. There seemed to be a pause in the action. Few if any vehicles might be seen on many streets across the globe, including cars, buses, and motorcycles. Many factories temporarily stopped their operations. Flights and airports also stopped their operations. People were on lockdown inside their homes and it became part of our own national history.
But amidst all these economic declines and global shutdown, one best thing happened in the world--it was possible for the Earth to breathe pure air again and that was the best breath she'd had in years.
Recently, the Let the Earth Breathe campaign became viral on social media as various scientists were arrested and got desperate in telling and informing people as they present climate crisis and claiming that we only have four (4) to five (5) years left before the worst things could happen if we will not fight against it.
So, we collected some ways how we can help save Earth and have the Earth breath in our own small ways. Below are some of the ways we can do to help and conserve the environment:
1. Delete unwanted emails.
Why do emails have such a negative impact on the environment? In order to process an email, energy is required. Additionally, this is used in the manufacturing of the computer and server systems, as well as in their operation.
In order to generate this energy, fossil fuel power plants need carbon fuels like coal, oil, or gas--this can cause climate change which can harm our environment.
Somewhere, emails that are sent over the Internet are being archived for future reference. As a general rule, they are kept on various servers throughout the globe. Large data centers house the servers, which use enormous quantities of power each day. And the majority of the world's power still comes from fossil fuels, which contribute to global carbon dioxide emissions (CO2e). This is why emails directly contribute to the production of greenhouse gases.
So, we can help cut greenhouse gas emissions by start deleting unwanted emails and spam!
Now that you know this, you may want to spend some time cleaning out your mailbox and the let the Earth Breathe. Every day, clear up your spam folder and unsubscribe from all of the notifications you don't want to receive from social media and other unwelcome websites.
2. Help spread awareness.
There are various ways in which you can help in spreading national awareness, if not global, about the vitality and cruciality of preserving our environment now-- whether you do it in indoor and outdoor spaces.
One method that you can try by utilizing indoor activities and your social media influence. All of us are well aware of the influence that social media may have on our daily lives. You may use these platforms to spread your message to a larger audience. Like, comment, and share postings may not seem like much, but you'd be shocked at how much of an impact they make. You may alter your mind with only one tweet.
Another way to do it is by recommending books and movies related to the earth. Climate change is a difficult idea to grasp. We can't instantly see, hear, or feel the effects of this occurrence. The typical individual isn't likely to notice that the planet is warming, even if it is. If you want to assist your friends and family understand climate change in a more relatable way, you should suggest material that does just that--and recommending books and movies does that.

3. Save water.
Water conservation saves money and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Reduced water use minimizes your carbon footprint since it saves energy that would otherwise be used to heat, cool, and pump water to your house. Wetland habitats, including otters, water voles, herons, and fish, benefit from decreased water use since it maintains water levels high.
4. Save electricity.
Reduced demand for fossil fuels means lower levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, which may be mitigated by reducing your own energy use and consumption. Carbon dioxide emissions trigger climate change which in return, causes heat waves, droughts, rising sea levels, irregular weather patterns, and a heightened risk of natural catastrophes. So, saving electricity at home or in your workplace can really go a long way.
5. Unplug electronics you don't use.
In addition to reducing your monthly bills and extending their useful lives, unplugging gadgets can also have a great impact on conserving our environment. Our carbon emissions may be reduced by disconnecting useless electronic devices, as the majority of our energy originates from fossil fuels.
6. Plant more trees.
Trees not only assist the atmosphere by absorbing carbon dioxide, but they also aid the soil by storing it. While oceans absorb 90% of all carbon emissions and subsequently experience the effects of acidification due to ocean acidification, trees are highly crucial to combat climate change.
Try to get some seed packets from native plant based models and medicinal plants from your community's seed bank and help the pollinator plant species to bring back the balance in our ecosystem. You can not just plant in outdoor spaces but also inside your homes as well.
7. Avoid smoking.
Because of its harmful effects on both human and environmental health, tobacco and e-cigarettes not just a bad choice for those who use them.
The discharge from cigarette butts pollutes sewers, rivers, beaches, and the seas since they end up in these bodies of water. Also, million pounds of toxic chemicals are being released by tobacco facilities around the globe every year.
S0 make sure to avoid smoking as it will not only help you to have a healthier living but also help the earth breathe.
8. Use LED lights.
Fluorescent and incandescent lights use up to 80 percent more energy than LED lights. Only 5% of the energy used by LEDs is lost as heat; the rest is transformed into light in the form of visible light. Fluorescent lights, on the other hand, turn 95% of their energy into heat and just 5% into light! Compared to conventional lighting, LEDs use up to 80% less energy.
Aside from this, using LED lights can also save the earth because it has no toxic elements and a longer lifespan as well as better light quality that makes you need fewer lights to use.
9. Drive less.
Reduced demand and lower gas prices are two benefits of cutting less on driving. According on the techniques employed to extract and refine the gasoline, the fuel industry may have a direct impact on the environment. When you buy less petrol, you reduce the economic sway that oil and gas industries have over the economy as a whole.
10. Carpool.
In addition to saving money and reducing the stress of driving, carpooling may also save money on gasoline and parking. Cleaner air and a heftier pocketbook may be achieved by giving up your automobile or driving less. In addition to biking and walking, there are a number of other methods that you can utilize when going to nearby places in your community.
For good measure, you can also help the environment by supporting or advertising businesses and communities that advocate and promote services and amenities that can save the earth-- and one of them is Lumina Homes.
