Pili Festival (Sorsogon City)
An annual Pili Festival in Sorsogon City pays tribute to the Pili nut and the Pili tree, which are native to the region. Sorsogon City's town fiesta occurs on the same day as the festival. All of these activities, as well as the nut-cracking on the roadside by local residents as well as street dancing, are part of these thanksgiving festivals.
During the event, young people dressed appropriately perform on the streets of the city, showcasing via their native regional dance or street parade the several applications for this wonderful tree. Dancers dressed in traditional costumes perform a mesmerizing street dance to the rhythmic beat of native percussion instruments during the Pili Festival's weeklong festivities.

Butanding Festival (Donsol)
This is a celebration to mark the beginning of the Butanding (Whaleshark) Season and to thank the residents of Donsol for the many benefits that the butanding has brought them. The festival's centerpiece is street dancing showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the town as well as the importance of the Butandings in their town.
To celebrate the return of the whale sharks (Rhincodon typus) to the area around Donsol, a festival is organized each year called Butanding Festival. As a major economic and tourist draw, the whaleshark's yearly peak attendance is eagerly anticipated and welcomed by the people who are actively engaged in protecting the butanding.
So mark your calendars and take a deep breath before diving into the greatest event ever for the largest fish in the water at Donsol.
When to visit: The Butanding Festival is celebrated in Donsol in the 4th week of January every year.
Padaraw Festival (Bulan)
As a term used by local fisherman, Padaraw is derived from an indigenous Bicol word. A school of fish congregating at a single location in the water is referred to as a "daraw." The daraw serves as a focal point for the fisherman, who gather here to capture their day's catch. Padaraw, on the other hand, is a word that connotes oneness.
Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception is the patron saint of the town of Bulan, and the Padaraw Festival is conducted to honor her. The celebrations are an expression of this coastal community's joy and appreciation for God's abundant blessings and gifts. Also expressing gratitude to God, Padaraw also reflects the bounty of land and water, which Bulan residents acknowledge in Padaraw.
Ethnic music and artistic street dance are one of the festival's main attractions. The abaca fiber is used to make vibrant costumes, which are on display as well.
When to visit: The Butanding Festival is celebrated in Bulan on the 30th of May every year.

Festival goers may sample anything from scrumptious treats to some of the area's best known cuisine at the festival's food booths. It also features street dancing with colorful costumes, beauty pageant, and other cultural and sports-related events as part of the other thanksgiving festivals.
