The New Generation from Misamis Occidental Joins Lumina Hiphop to the Top Dance Contest

7 February 2022

The early 1970s saw the emergence of hip hop as a kind of street dancing in New York City. Since then, Hip Hop has developed and become famous in other parts of the world, including the Philippines.

Hip hop dance incorporates motions like popping, locking, krumpin', and dare we say, twerkin' in the context of hip hop or rap music. It's a dynamic, exhilarating, and ever-changing kind of dance. Due to this, one can't deny the grooving fact that hip hop is among the most popular forms of dance in the world right now.

But do you sometimes wonder why people love to do Hip Hop dancing, especially the younger generations?

Why Hip Hop is a popular kind of dance these days?

1. It's fast-paced and grooving.

A delicious and upbeat mood may be found in many different genres of Funk music. The music doesn't always cause you to rush to the dance floor right away but instead resonates with you. Funkadelic, James Brown, and Earth, Wind, and Fire are all significant instances of the groove. While the bass and drums keep things tight, the guitars provide a lot of variety, and the horns add a lot of energy, the vocals really bring the song to life. You won't even realize how much work you're putting in since the rhythm simply keeps you going. It's lively, funky, and fast-paced.

2. Develops your strength and stamina.

A hip hop dancer must be quick and explosive to keep up with the fast-paced music. In order to perform at a higher level for a longer amount of time, one must engage in regular dancing practice to build muscular endurance. As a bonus to increasing endurance, dancing also elevates the heart rate of the body. Hip Hop is definitely a high-intensity exercise that will improve your stamina and strength that you can easily be dragged out of bed each day by excitement.

3. Boosts your motivation

If you're looking to be healthy, dancing is a great method to get it done, but hip-hop is also a delightful way to get fit. Exercises such as dancing may help you stay in shape and increase your cardio and physical endurance. There is also a great deal of data to support the positive effects of dancing on one's emotional well-being, sense of self-worth, and ability to cope with stress.

You'll reap the advantages of cross-training and altering your routine enough to keep you motivated with so many various hip-hop dance styles, from breakdancing to robotting.

4. Burns much calories

With the perfect combination of music, moves, and intensity, a single hour of dancing may result in a calorie burn of up to 400. Those with a higher BMI might expect to lose two to three pounds in a week at the very most. The bulk of hip hop dancing moves have one thing in common: they're all full-body movements. You may burn up to 400 calories an hour just shaking your bottom and doing these routines!

5. Improves memory and coordination

You have a better memory if you have more complicated neuronal connections in your brain. Developing new neural connections is as simple as learning a new skill, such as a dance routine's choreography. Your brain will be able to access information stored and experiences, such as names and places, more easily because of this.

Make it a habit to memorize choreographed routines by practicing them. An excellent approach to improve your memory, as well as your coordination in other areas, is by learning new movements and practicing them.

So, what are you waiting for? Practice those dance lessons you learned from school and apply some grove into it to do Hip Hop dance style- just like what The New Generation did!

The New Generation of Hip Hop to the Top

The New Generation from Bulacan is one of the group participants for Lumina's national dance competition Hip Hop to the Top Dance Contest. They showed in their dance performance video the beauty of their province Misamis Occidental and the spacious community of Lumina Ozamiz

Some of the tourist spots that we recoomend that you visit when you find yourself discovering Ozamiz City are:

Cotta Fort

Because of the Cotta Fort, Ozamiz might be said to have been founded.

A band of pirates from the provinces of Lanao tried to invade the region via Panguil Bay during the Spanish colonization of the Philippines. For this reason, the El Fuerte de la Concepcion del Triunfo or simply Cotta Fort was built in 1755 and is now mostly used to house a shrine to the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception, also known as the Nuestra Señora de la Concepción del Triunfo, similar to Zamboanga City's Fort Pilar. It was also used as a berth by the Spanish navy while it was in port there. The fort has seen action during both the Spanish and Japanese occupations of the Philippines.

The province of Lanao del Norte is about a two-hour car ride from Ozamiz, may be seen from the fort wall.

Bukagan Bell Tower

This was originally purchased for the city's Immaculate Conception Cathedral, which houses the bells of St. Peter, St. Marien, St. Joseph, and St. Michael. However, when the bells arrived at the church, they discovered that they were too large and heavy to fit in the belfry. In the end, they chose to build a new building in Bukagan Hill that could withstand the combined weight of all the bells there.

To go to the Bukagan Hill Bell Tower, you'll need a habal-habal or a passenger motorbike. Because the fares are not uniform, you should anticipate spending anything from Php 100 to PHP 300. It's a good idea to travel to and from this place before it gets dark, given how far it is from the city.

These are some of the wonders that you can visit and witness in the beautiful City of Ozamiz in the Province of Misamis Occidental. And you can discover more of its beauty if you have purchased a bank house for sale from Lumina Ozamiz.

So check out their available homes for sale in Lumina Ozamiz and unbox the perks of having a decent abode you can call your own.
